Clinical Psychologist

(she/her/hers; they/them/theirs)

Presenting Concerns: I offer assessment and psychotherapy services for adults struggling with issues like:

Approach: Therapy is a collaborative process, and my client has a story that is very personal and unique to them. I hold their story with respect and care as we move through the process of change and acceptance. An essential part of my approach is to work with their journey, their pain, their needs and goals. I strive to provide culturally adapted psychotherapy by focusing on social contexts such as their family, friends, and community. I speak and provide therapy in English, Hindi, Bengali and Trinidadian Creole.

My clinical orientation is rooted in cognitive-behavioural theories and Buddhist philosophy. I integrate other interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-based therapies. I have a special interest in working with racialized and LGBTQ+ communities.

Training/Experience: I received my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Memorial University. My dissertation research focused on depression among folx with MS. My predoctoral residency was at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), with rotations in the Health and Wellness Clinic at the University of Toronto and the Work, Stress, and Health (WSH) Clinic. I subsequently remained at CAMH as a staff psychologist in the WSH Clinic for nine years following my residency.
